Current state
The SickKids Comprehensive Cancer Centre was approved by Senior Management in January 2008. The business plan for the centre is under development and several small initiatives have begun. In particular, a Small Grants competition open to researchers in the hospital/research institute will be conducted in early 2009, and several symposia on a breadth of subjects related to childhood cancer were conducted in 2008 and more are planned for 2009. Larger initiatives are being developed in the clinical, research and education themes of the centre to be rolled out over the next 18 months.
