Critical Care Medicine

The mission of the Acute Care Research Program is to produce top quality, multi-disciplinary research that has the potential to improve care for acutely ill paediatric patients.

Our goals are to:

  • Obtaining funding from national and international peer-reviewed granting agencies that support our research endeavors
  • Encourage and promote research from all disciplines including, but not limited to, physicians, fellows, students, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, social workers and dietitians
  • Disseminate findings to the Health Care and scientific community by: 1) publishing in high-impact scientific journals; 2) educating hospital staff by presenting at departmental rounds and circulating results in acute care departmental newsletters, and; 3) presenting to the health care professionals and the scientific community at both national and international conferences
  • Generate studies aimed at integrating care, education and research, in accordance with the Sick Kids 2006-2009 Strategic Directives Mission
