Critical Care Medicine

Critical Care Response Team

The Critical Care Response Team (CCRT) is a physician-nurse team established in 2006. Our role is to provide a seamless interface between the Hospital wards and the ICUs – for patients and providers before ICU, in transition to ICU and for 48 hours after ICU admission. The CCRT role includes multidisciplinary education, team debriefing and inter-professional communication.

The CCRT provides a 24/7 urgent response service to assess, advise and stabilize ward inpatients. The CCRT is an integral part of the Hospital's Resuscitation Team and facilitates acute care interventions.

Our goal is to improve patient outcomes, either by facilitating timely transfer to the ICU or sharing critical care expertise, to prevent the need for ICU admission.
