The Division of Endocrinology/Endocrine Program provides both in-patient and ambulatory care to infants, children and teens with the full spectrum of endocrine disorders. Additionally, paediatric gynecology is a subsection of this program. This program is the tertiary referral centre for a large portion of Ontario and supports endocrine complications associated with many other disciplines. This service is very active in health professional education and research.
We have a large multidisciplinary diabetes health care team involved in the ongoing care of over 1,000 children with Types 1 and 2 diabetes as well as diabetes related to other disorders (e.g. cystic fibrosis, glucocorticoid therapy). More than 100 children are seen at diabetes on set each year. We have a large insulin pump program.
