Multidisciplinary Surgical Oncology Clinic
The Multidisciplinary Surgical Oncology Clinic occurs weekly on 5D in the hospital's Atrium. This clinic is designed for the care of patients with:
- Masses of the neck, chest or abdomen which may be related to cancer.
- New patients with an established diagnosis of cancer, including those involving the liver, kidneys, adrenal glands, lungs, mediastinum, skin, lymph nodes and other soft tissues.
- Patients with an established diagnosis of cancer who require short-term follow-up for their surgical procedure and/or may need long-term surveillance.
Staff from other divisions, as Hematology/Oncology and Dermatology, attend the clinic as required.
The clinic has recognized the importance of caring for children with melanoma. To address this group of patients, the Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy Program has been created in concert with staff in Hematology/Oncology, Dermatology and Nuclear Medicine.
