Medical Education

Thank you for your interest in SickKids' Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Training Program. Our educational development programs offer extensive, in-depth exposure to a multitude of paediatric haematology and oncology issues. We are the largest Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) accredited Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Training Program in Canada, with 35-45 fellows being trained at any one time. With research opportunities, world renowned clinicians and researchers and training designed specifically for residents or fellows with an interest in Paediatric Haematology/Oncology, SickKids is the ideal place to train future leaders.

Sub-specialty residents (fellows) complete a two or three-year general Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Training Program with rotations through all key areas of the specialty of haematology, oncology, and blood and bone marrow transplantation. Additionally, there is an opportunity for those already trained in general Paediatric Haematology/Oncology to obtain further clinical and/or research sub-specialty training in haemoglobinopathy, bone marrow failure and myelodysplasia, thrombosis, leukemia and lymphoma, neuroblastoma, neuro-oncology, childhood cancer survivorship, new agent and innovative therapy, and blood and bone marrow transplantation. As one of the finest and largest RCPSC accredited pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship programs in the country and among the finest in the nation, our experts are helping to train board-eligible and board-certified pediatricians to become sub-specialists in pediatric hematology-oncology.
