The Learning Institute was formally created in 2007 to support all educational activities at SickKids.
- SickKids educates more than 2,300 academic trainees each year.
- Continuing professional development opportunities, supported by the Learning Institute’s Conference Management Service, are delivered to over 3,000 learners.
- Learning and orientation programs are offered to more than 6,000 staff on an annual basis.
- Over 500 students from many academic health disciplines are at SickKids on any given day.
- Faculty associated with SickKids travel across the world to make hundreds of presentations every year.
- Over the last year, SickKids received 1.4 million visits to the patient and family education site AboutKidsHealth.ca .
- AboutKidsHealth gets visits from more than 180 countries on 6 continents and 500 Canadian sites in a typical month.
