Summer students - research

SickKids provides learning opportunities for university students to conduct research during their summer break in laboratories and clinical settings under the supervision of Research Institute scientists.

The 12-week program runs from May to July. Specific start dates are arranged directly with the hiring scientists. The program includes weekly seminars presented by Hospital and Research Institute staff. The final event of the program is the Annual Summer Student Symposium. At this event, summer students are provided with an opportunity to present the results of their projects in poster format. Outstanding students are invited to give oral presentations. Awards are presented to select students with exceptional research projects.
