Who we are

Dr. Yigal Dror. Program Director, Associate Professor of Paediatrics. Dr. Dror is a paediatric haematologist/oncologist, and scientist at the Cell Biology Program at The Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute. The focus of Dr. Dror’s Lab is the molecular and cellular mechanisms for bone marrow failure, myelodysplasia and leukemia. He is also the Chairman of a Canadian Inherited Bone Marrow Failure Registry (CIMFR).

Dr. Isaac Odame, Associate Professor of Paediatrics. Dr. Odame joined the Marrow Failure and Myelodysplasia Program in January 2007. He has been a co-investigator on the Canadian Inherited Marrow Failure Registry since 2001 and has a strong academic interest in marrow failure, MDS as well as in thalassemia and sickle cell anemia.

Ms. Pat Canning. RN, CNS. Marrow Failure/MDS Nurse. Ms. Canning is an experienced haematology/oncology nurse who dedicated most of her career to the care of children with cancer and serious blood diseases in the Division of Haematology Oncology.

Ms. Diana Cottingham. Social Worker. Ms. Cottingham has a wide experience in the care of patients with various hematological and oncological conditions. She assesses the needs and provides support for children and families.

Ms. Carla Seabrokok. Information coordinator. Ms. Seabrook has been in our program for several years and coordinates booking appointments for clinic visits and tests.

Ms. Elyse Zylunska. RPh, BSc.Phm. Ms. Zylunska is a clinical pharmacist who provides ongoing advice to the medical team and support to the patients and families.

Ms. Mary Barron. MSc, RD. Ms. Barron is a clinical dietician in the Division of Haematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation for many years. She provides dietary counseling to the program.

Mr. Chris Allen. Clinical Research Project Coordinator. Mr. Allen coordinates the clinical studies performed in the program and discusses participation with the patients and families.
