The International BMMRD Consortium

The International Biallelic Mismatch Repair Deficiency Consortium

The International Biallelic Mismatch Repair Consortium (IBMMRC) brings together international paediatric and adult gastroenterologists, oncologists and scientists to work together to identify, evaluate and investigate the causes, monitor surveillance and develop new treatments for children and young adults with Biallelic Mismatch Repair Deficiency (BBMRD) syndrome.

IBMMRC Goals

Patient resources

We provide patients and family members with a comprehensive background on BMMRD and present additional educational resources.

Health-care practitioner resources

We aim to increase general knowledge and awareness of BMMRD within the medical community, and provide health-care practitioners with educational resources to aide in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of patients.

Patient enrollment

We encourage the enrollment of both patients and health-care professionals into the consortium.

Clinical management

We develop novel therapies for the treatment of BMMRD and offer current surveillance and management strategies.

Research

We carry out leading research in the field of BMMRD in order to better understand this rare syndrome and improve patient outcomes.

Collaboration

We create and facilitate the development of an international collaborative initiative with health-care professionals that promotes sharing biological and clinical data for the purpose of translational research and improvement of clinical outcomes.
