Children’s Use of Crutches in Winter

Funding: Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (TRI) iDAPT fund and The Hospital for Sick Children.
Following injury or surgery to the lower extremity, most children will rely on crutches. Winter conditions are a reality in many parts of the world and may complicate the ability of children to ambulate with crutches. This study will provide guidance concerning safe practices when crutch ambulation is required in winter conditions.
