Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) provides interdisciplinary, family-centred care for children and adolescents with mental illness.As part of an academic health sciences centre, we integrate research, teaching, patient care and advocacy to advance knowledge about mental illness and promote evidence-based practice in supporting children’s mental health.
Each year we see more than 10,000 patients through our outpatient, day hospital, inpatient programs. Clinical Services offered at SickKids include the psychiatric emergency service, an acute inpatient unit, a medical psychiatry consultation service, and specialized programs in anxiety disorders, attention deficit and related disorders, eating disorders program, and infant psychiatry.
