LFHC Physical Activity Promotion project

Healthy, Active Childhoods for Children Born with Heart Problems

The Labatt Family Heart Centre (LFHC) Physical Activity Promotion project was created to help children born with heart problems and their families to feel more confident about participating in physical activity.

This project was designed to:

  • Obtain information about the children’s physical activity participation
  • Obtain information about the children’s fitness and exercise capabilities
  • Evaluate the effects of different interventions on perceptions of physical activity within the family
  • Improve clinical practices so that all children born with heart problems can benefit from physical activity participation.

The Cardiovascular Clinical Research Unit is involved in many research projects that are designed to promote active, healthy lifestyles for children and youth. If you would like more information about this project or our other research activities, please contact us.
