Active Families Research Program

Fontan project

The Active Families project was created to work with families that include a child who has had the Fontan heart operation.

The project is designed to:

  • Obtain information about the children's physical activity participation.
  • Obtain information about the children's fitness and exercise capabilities.
  • Identify factors that influence physical activity for these children.
  • Evaluate two different ways of supporting families to encourage their children to be physically active.

The Cardiovascular Clinical Research Unit is involved in many research projects that are designed to promote active, healthy lifestyles for children and youth. If you would like more information about this project or our other research activities, please contact us.
