Parent activity perception

This project was designed to compare parents’ knowledge about and perceptions of their child’s physical activity with their child’s actual level of physical activity participation.

Specifically, we wanted to find out:

  • How often parents have questions about their child’s physical activity.
  • How much physical activity children with a variety of chronic medical conditions actually perform.
  • Whether the activity level of the child differs between parents who do and do not have questions about their child’s physical activity levels.

The Cardiovascular Clinical Research Unit is involved in many research projects that are designed to promote active, healthy lifestyles for children and youth. If you would like more information about this project or our other research activities, please contact us.
