Developmental & Stem Cell Biology
Head: Dr. Brian Ciruna
The Developmental & Stem Cell Biology program encompasses a broad range of research aimed at elucidating the molecular and genetic mechanisms that underlie embryonic development and tissue regeneration. Basic developmental biology research, involving a wide variety of model organisms, is used to further our understanding of developmental disorders such as childhood cancers and other congenital diseases. The program seeks to translate fundamental discoveries into diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
