Dr. Brenda Spiegler

In addition to her role as a neuropsychologist in the Oncology Program at SickKids, Dr. Spiegler is a diplomat in Clinical Neuropsychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology, vice president of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology and is a member of its oral examination cadre. She is an active contributor to the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario, sitting on several of its committees over the past decade and its Board of Directors since 2004.

Dr. Spiegler applies her background in child development, brain function and neuropsychology to an understanding of the late effects of pediatric cancer and its treatments on behaviour, learning, and development. She is involved in both clinical and research programs concerned with cognitive and psychosocial late effects. She has published in the areas of neurocognitive late effects afttreatment for childhood brain tumours and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
