Molecular Medicine

Head: Dr. Julie Forman-Kay

Research in the Molecular Medicine program aims to understand molecular structures and mechanisms, identify the molecular basis of human diseases, and develop molecular approaches for prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Program members utilize structural, biophysical, computational, chemical, biochemical, microbiological and cell biological tools to study and modulate the molecular underpinnings of normal and pathological processes.

Program members currently work on a diverse set of diseases, including:

  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Congenital Muscular Dystrophy
  • Various genetic/metabolic diseases
  • Bacterial, viral and parasitic infections
  • Heart and stroke
