Child Abuse Research Ethics Consensus Symposium hosted by Dr. Alex Levin. Funded in part by CIHR and Associated Medical Services, this two-day conference brought together major shareholders in child maltreatment including researchers, bioethicists, and major organizations representing children. Its goals were to facilitate research in child maltreatment by addressing the bioethical challenges, create informed consent guidelines that parallel current state of the art bioethics guidelines for informed consent in other types of research, and create a document which summarizes the group's recommendations and provides education and guidance to research ethics boards.
