Residency

Important Note to All Applicants:

If you have also applied to the U.S match through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP), please be advised that the University of Toronto is a participating institution and adheres to the match policy. 

The policy states that "Applicants who have matched to a program or have accepted a position during the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP), shall not apply for, discuss, interview for, or accept a concurrent year position in another program prior to the NRMP granting the requested waiver." 

Further information is available from the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

Residents outside the University of Toronto

If you are a resident outside of the U of T and you wish to apply to do an elective in the Division of Urology, you must first write a letter to the Head of the Division, Dr. Martin Koyle at martin.koyle@sickkids.ca.

Once you are approved, we require the following:

    • your CV
    • a letter from your program director confirming funding during your stay 
    • your photo
    • a copy of your medical degree
    • a letter confirming your date of arrival and departure
    • proof of Medical Protective Insurance if in Canada

Once you have completed the requirements, please send it either by email to urology.education@sickkids.ca in one PDF file or by mail to the address below. Once received, it will then be sent to the University of Toronto for processing. Upon receipt, the university will will contact you regarding to the next steps in completing your application.
