Who can participate in Caliper?

Healthy children and youth from birth to 18 years old can participate.

How can families help?

Families can help by encouraging their children to participate. Participation involves completing a short questionnaire and donating a small blood sample.

Why is this study important?

This project will help determine what is healthy and normal when a child is screened for a disease at a hospital. This will help to improve assessment and treatment of children not only at SickKids but everywhere.

Research Goals:

• To establish a comprehensive laboratory database of age-specific and gender-specific paediatric reference intervals.
• To share the database with children hospitals in Canada and internationally.
