Cochlear Implant Program

The Cochlear Implant Program at The Hospital for Sick Children is one of the largest paediatric centres for cochlear implantation in North America. A cochlear implant can help a child with a significant hearing loss hear well enough to develop speech and language. Since 1990 we have implanted almost 1,100 children, and we have approximately 500 bilateral cochlear implant recipients (both ears).

Parents can self-refer to our Program for an assessment of their child's candidacy for a cochlear implant. For more information on how to apply to the Program, please click here. You can also contact us at 416-813-7259 or cochlear.implant@sickkids.ca.
