Medical directives evaluation process
Each year, all approved medical directives must be evaluated. This hospital-wide approval process examines utilization, safety, education, and other issues that may have arisen over the past years. Directives that have been identified through this evaluation that require changes are revised and re-submitted for approval.
Based on the data from our evaluation of 2007, a total of 227 medical directives were evaluated, 89 directives were revised, and there were 59 reported audits for utilization, effectiveness and safety.
