Rehabilitation

Research

research using NMES

The Rehabilitation Department is strongly committed to and seeks to excel in clinical research activities which will help to improve the understanding and acute rehabilitation management of childhood disorders. Within our department, we have a Scientific Review committee consisting of the PT and OT representatives and content reviewers who may be from other programs, disciplines or external to the hospital.

Project Investigator

Therapists are appointed to the position of Project Investigator through the Sick Kids Research Institute. A project investigator is defined as any SickKids staff member who is involved in research either through directly funded projects, the supervision of research students or research in their area of practice.

Graduate Education

Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists graduate from Canadian universities with a professional Master’s degree, either MScPT or MScOT. Therapists have also completed further graduate education in research, education, health administration or ethics.
