Welcome to the Yeung Lab!

The Yeung Lab's research program is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing autoimmunity in working towards the discovery of molecular tools for Kawasaki disease (KD) and Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). Specifically, focusing on the development of platforms and tools to improve research efficiency in both inflammatory diseases and studying the mechanisms responsible for initiating and sustaining the immune response in autoimmunity.

Our Research Focus

The Yeung Lab's central theme of research focus is Kawasaki disease (KD):  a multisystem vasculitis affecting the coronary arteries, and the number one cause of acquired heart disease in children in the developed world.

The Yeung Lab is currently leading and participating in national and international multi-centred translational research studies and networks to understand the biologic basis for heterogeneity in Childhood Arthritis and Kawasaki disease.
