Pre-admission program
Learning more about what to expect before your family arrives at SickKids is an important step in preparing for hospitalization or surgery.
The hospital has a Pre-admission program that helps children and families prepare for their surgical experience. This interactive program is offered in an age appropriate environment and includes either a slide show or puppet show, followed by the use of medical play familiarizing both the child and family with hospital equipment and ending with a tour of our facilities.
Additional preparation and consultation may be available for families with adolescents through the program coordinator.
