About the Resuscitation Education Program

The Resuscitation Education Program provides Basic Life Support (BLS) training for SickKids patients, families, staff, and the general public. The program strives for quality and service excellence, enabling SickKids staff, patients and families to maintain a healthy and safe organization and community, optimizing child safety.

Types of CPR and Resuscitation Training Offered Through SickKids

Friends and Family CPR Course

The Friends and Family course aims to help teach families of infants, children and teens Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and relief of choking.  We can also provide instruction on additional airway management (tracheostomy, NPT) for those participants who may require this skill.  This course is open to both friends and families of healthy children in the community, as well as anyone looking after SickKids patients.  It is encouraged for families of children with a high risk for cardiopulmonary compromise prior to discharge from SickKids.
