The Department of Paediatrics consists of multifaceted programs of national and international significance and supports the mission and goals of The Hospital for Sick Children. The mission of the Department of Paediatrics is to provide leadership in: basic, clinical and health outcomes research; and the education of medical students, postgraduate and subspecialty trainees and continuing education participants.
The ultimate goal of our endeavours in the Department of Paediatrics is to facilitate excellence in the health care of children. Health care is seen in its broadest sense, and includes: education/health promotion and prevention, advocacy, health maintenance and treatment.
