Dentistry
Physicians and dentists may refer dental emergency patients during clinic hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday) by telephone at 416-813-7433.
After clinic hours, telephone the Emergency Department directly at 416-813-7500 and they will contact the on call dental staff.
A dentist, physician or surgeon must refer eligible non-emergent patients in writing to the dental clinics. See the SickKids Dentistry Referral Form. Eligibility is limited to children under 16 years with acute or chronic medical conditions, disabilities or craniofacial differences. Healthy children with dental injuries, facial infections, or severe early childhood decay under three years are eligible for treatment then referred back to the community for continuing care.
