Cardiac critical care
SickKids established the first Division of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine in Canada in early 2006. The Division is part of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children, and an integral part of the Labatt Family Heart Centre.
We are dedicated to the development of cardiac focused expertise in clinical, teaching and research programs.

What we do
The Cardiac Critical Care Unit is an 18 bed comprehensive critical care unit for infants and children with cardiac disease.
Research activities
All members of the division are actively engaged in research on topics related to pediatric cardiac critical care, and there are a number of ongoing collaborations with other members of the Labatt Family Heart Centre including echocardiography, electrophysiology and cardiovascular surgery.
