Allergy Referral Criteria
Who can refer
Allergists preferred
Patient age
17 years and under
Clinical criteria
- Complex allergic diseases
- Biphasic anaphylaxis
- Multiple drug allergies
- Latex allergy
- Food challenges
- Complex urticaria (chronic, idiopathic, cold/heat induced etc)
- Mastocytosis
Rejection criteria
- Environmental allergies (allergic rhinitis etc)
- Eczema or dermatology concerns
- First time allergic reaction/anaphylaxis
- Isolated large local reactions to vaccines
- Family history of allergy
Notes
Patients with complex medical conditions followed at SickKids who require an allergy assessment are also evaluated.
