Allergy Referral Criteria

Who can refer

Allergists preferred

Patient age

17 years and under

Clinical criteria

Complex allergic diseases
Biphasic anaphylaxis
Multiple drug allergies
Latex allergy
Food challenges
Complex urticaria (chronic, idiopathic, cold/heat induced etc)
Mastocytosis

Rejection criteria

Environmental allergies (allergic rhinitis etc)
Eczema or dermatology concerns
First time allergic reaction/anaphylaxis
Isolated large local reactions to vaccines
Family history of allergy

Notes

Patients with complex medical conditions followed at SickKids who require an allergy assessment are also evaluated.
