Parking at SickKids

The underground garage entrance (pictured above) is located on Elm Street, which is along the south side of the hospital, just west of the Elizabeth Street and Elm Street intersection.

Atrium parking garage cleaning

Varying levels of the Atrium parking garage will be closed for cleaning from 5 p.m. on Oct. 11 to 6 a.m. on Oct. 14. Cleaning will begin on the P1 level at 5 p.m. on Oct. 11 and move to P2 at 4 p.m. on Oct. 12. P3 and P4 will be closed for cleaning on Oct. 13. Drivers are reminded not to park in any taped-off areas.

Construction on University Ave.

Give yourself extra time when travelling by car to SickKids. A multi-year watermain replacement project is underway on University Avenue between College St. and Queen St W., with lane reductions affecting southbound traffic.

Construction in the Atrium parking garage

Please prepare for delays entering and exiting the Atrium parking garage due to ongoing construction. Give yourself extra time to park to ensure you are on time for appointments. For everyone's safety, please do not park in the work areas that have been taped off. Thank you for your patience.

Parking is for SickKids patients, families, caregivers and staff only.

The underground garage has a maximum height clearance of 6’1.

Take a ticket upon entry. Pay when exiting with cash or credit card at one of the automated pay stations located in each of the P1 to P4 elevator lobbies.

Please give yourself extra time to park to ensure you are on time for your appointments, especially if you are coming or leaving during morning or afternoon/evening rush hours.

The Parking Office is located on Level P1 in the Atrium Parking Garage.

Hours of operation

Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The SickKids Atrium parking garage

Parking is available under the hospital.

The underground garage entrance (pictured above) is located on Elm Street, which is along the south side of the hospital, just west of the Elizabeth Street and Elm Street intersection.

You must take a ticket upon entry and pay at one of the pay stations located in each of the P1 to P4 elevator lobbies when exiting. The automated pay stations accept cash and credit cards.

If you are parking at SickKids, please give yourself extra time to park to ensure you are on time for your appointments, especially if you are coming or leaving during morning or afternoon/evening rush hours.

Please note the underground garage has a maximum height clearance of 6’1.

City street parking

City street parking is available, but read the signs carefully.

Do not park on nearby streets before 9:30 a.m. or between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Do not park in the Emergency driveway or in the driveways on Elizabeth Street or University Avenue. Cars will be ticketed and towed.

Other parking around SickKids

There are other parking lots conveniently located near the hospital.

  • Daily - Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. $6 per half hour to a maximum of $20 for 24 hours. 
  • Evenings - Monday to Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. $3 per half hour to a maximum of $7 
  • Saturday, Sunday and Holidays - 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. $3 per half hour to a maximum of $7. 

All parking ticket and parking pass purchases are final. Refunds are not available. There are no in-and-out privileges for daily/evening/weekend/holiday parking.

With daily/evening/weekend/holiday parking, there are no “'in-and-out"' privileges.

With the H Pass card (multi-use pass for parents and caregivers) and 1-month pass, there are in-and-out privileges for each 24-hour period.

You must take a parking ticket upon entry. Upon exit, bring your parking ticket to pay at one of the automated stations located in each of the P1 to P4 elevator lobbies upon exit. Cash, Mastercard, American Express and Visa are all accepted.

For patients and their families who anticipate multiple visits or a longer stay in the hospital, SickKids is pleased to offer a discounted multi-use parking pass (H Pass card) for parents of patients and their frequent visitors.

Electric vehicle charging stations

SickKids has three electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, located in the Atrium Parking Garage, Level P1. These parking spots are designated for EVs only and have a four-hour charging limit. There is no extra fee for using the charging stations although parking rates apply.

  • Download the FLO Mobile App from Google Play or the App Store. The designated area for EV charging stations now has free Wi-Fi for patients, families and guests. To connect:
    • Network name: SickKidsGUEST
    • Password: beourguest
  • Use the serial number printed on your charging station to find it on the app (e.g. “AAB - 20995”, “AAB - 20942”, and “AAB – 21031)
  • Plug in and charge for up to four hours. As a courtesy to other drivers, your vehicle must be relocated to a place within the Atrium parking garage when the four-hour charge is complete to allow others to use the space.
  • If you are having issues accessing the mobile app, please visit the Parking Office for assistance.
  • For 24/7 assistance with charging issues, please contact FLO directly at 1-888-356-8911.

  • EV charging station users must either pay the required hourly/daily parking fees or have a monthly parking permit (for the Atrium parking garage).
  • Vehicle must be an EV and actively charging. The EV charging station cannot be used for loading and unloading, temporary parking or as a pick-up or drop-off area.
  • Charging time limit is a maximum of four hours.
  • Spaces cannot be reserved. First come, first served
  • Unauthorized vehicles parked in the EV charging station or failure to comply with parking regulations may result in ticket and/or towing of your vehicle at your expense.
  • SickKids will monitor EV usage and explore further addition of EV charging stations in the future.

The EV charging stations and their installation were supported by Natural Resources Canada and Pollution Probe.

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we are pleased to offer the convenience of EV charging to support patients, families and staff to use environmentally friendly transportation.


Discount multi-use passes for parents

Parent one-month pass

Parents can purchase a discounted one-month pass from the Parking Office on Level 1 (P1). The pass costs $200.

H Pass discount passes

The H Pass is a card that offers a reduced parking rate and also allows for in-and-out privileges throughout a 24-hour period. The pass can be used by parents and shared among family members and the patient’s frequent visitors.

The H Pass card is available for 5, 10 or 30 uses at a cost of $10 per use.

H Pass – Single Pass

Parents purchasing 5 or 10 uses will receive 1 card that can be shared among family members and the patient’s visitors.

H Pass – Family Pass

Parents purchasing a 30-use card can request up to 5 cards at the time of purchase. Each card will be linked to the same parent account but can be used by any of the patient’s family members and visitors.

SickKids understands parking costs are an additional financial burden for families with a child undergoing care at the hospital, particularly patients requiring extended in-patient stays or frequent clinic visits. SickKids offers multi-use passes (H Pass) that offers a 50 per cent discount off the regular daily rate to parents of patients and their frequent visitors.

Frequently asked questions about H Pass

Parents can purchase an H Pass card in the Parking Office on Level 1 (P1) of the Atrium parking garage. You will be required to present the Parking Office attendant with patient parent identification, such as a SickKids Parent ID badge/sticker or a clinic/appointment confirmation letter.

The H Pass can only be purchased during Parking Office hours. The office is on Level 1 (P1) of the garage and is open 7 days a week. See above for the current hours of operation.

Yes. You may enter the parking lot as many times as you like during a 24-hour period and it will count as only 1 use.

Yes. The 30 uses are shared between the 5 cards. Each card does not get 30 uses.

Your card balance can be viewed online.

Check Your Balance

If your card is not working please visit the Parking Office on Level 1 (P1) of the garage.

The H Pass should be treated like cash. If lost you will not be reimbursed.

The uses are valid for up to 1 year from the date of purchase.
