SickKids named world’s best children’s hospital for second year in a row
Summary:
Back-to-back No. 1 ranking recognizes the backing of staff and a community committed to child health.
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) has been named the world’s best children’s hospital by Newsweek and Statista for the second year in a row, ranking first among more than 250 paediatric hospitals worldwide.
The back-to-back No. 1 ranking is a first for SickKids. It also marks the sixth consecutive year the hospital has ranked among the world’s top two paediatric hospitals and the third time it has earned the top position.
“Being No. 1 is an extraordinary honour. Achieving No. 1 back-to-back reflects the excellence, dedication and shared purpose that define SickKids every day,” says Dr. Ronald Cohn, President and CEO of SickKids. “This recognition belongs to the staff, trainees, volunteers, donors and community who stand behind our mission and make our work for children and families possible.”
SickKids is fortunate to be backed at every turn. Backed by clinical excellence. Backed by research. Backed by education. Backed by our people. Together, this community enables SickKids to provide specialized, compassionate care, and improve outcomes for children in Ontario, Canada and around the world.
The recognition comes as SickKids continues to advance Precision Child Health, an approach that aims to individualize care for every child by considering what makes each patient unique – from their genetic code to their postal code. Through care, research, education and responsible use of data and technology, SickKids is working to diagnose faster, treat smarter and predict better.
