Physiotherapy Referral Criteria

Who can refer

Referrals can be made by an MD or NP using Epic Care Link.

Patient acceptance

Physiotherapists at SickKids provide outpatient assessments for children with torticollis who meet the following criteria:

infants greater than 3 months of age,
infants less than 3 months of age with no clinical improvement despite community therapy
pre/post-acute surgical management

Current SickKids patients may access outpatient acute rehabilitation Physiotherapy services through specific medical or surgical clinics, including Plastic Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and other specialty clinics. Referrals to these services can be made by SickKids’ physicians or nurse practitioners.

Please note, we do not otherwise provide outpatient physiotherapy services. Please contact Ontario Health at Home or your primary care provider for alternative publicly-funded options for PT, or seek out private pediatric PT services such as Boomerang Health.
