The SickKids KT Program develops tools and resources to address knowledge and practice gaps. These tools and resources are informed by evidence in KT and Implementation Science, as well as years of experience in the field.
The KT Game©
The KT Game© is a teaching and planning tool that can support your team in developing a KT dissemination plan using a comprehensive card game. Playing the KT Game is a way to make developing a KT plan and KT planning skills visual, tactile, and fun! To book a facilitated session, contact knowledge.translation@sickkids.ca.

The Knowledge Translation Planning Template© supports comprehensive knowledge translation (KT) planning. The KT Planning Template is universally applicable across sectors. Working through the KT Planning Template step by step will help you address the essential components of the KT planning process. Available in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Knowledge Translation Planning Template - Companion Tool ©
The KTPT Companion Tool helps share the content of the KT plan you created using the Knowledge Translation Planning Template©. It supports you in writing your KT plan’s main messages, which can be used in a research proposal or project plan.
Knowledge Translation Plan Appraisal Tool ©
The KT Plan Appraisal Tool (KT-PAT) helps assess the quality of a KT plan based on three main criteria: comprehensiveness, alignment, and feasibility. Initially designed for grant reviewers, the KT-PAT can be used by anyone to determine the quality of their KT plan.
Plain Language Checklist
Plain language techniques can be used in many professional settings and situations. The Plain Language Checklist was developed to guide the development of a message that incorporates plain language and KT principles.
The Implementation Roadmap ©
The Implementation Roadmap is a step-by-step planning tool for implementers in real-world practice settings. The Roadmap simplifies the implementation process into five main elements from implementation science and consists of a workbook and poster.

Module 1: Introduction to Knowledge Translation
Module 1 will introduce you to the concept of knowledge translation (KT). Upon completion of this module, you will be able to define KT and related terms and understand how KT is relevant to your work. Estimated Completion Time: 15 minutes. Free. Module 2: How to Prepare a Knowledge Translation Plan
Module 2 will walk you through the key elements of building a knowledge translation dissemination plan using the Knowledge Translation Planning Template© (KTPT). Upon completion of this module, you will be able to use the KTPT© to prepare a KT dissemination plan and work through the key components of KT planning. Estimated Completion Time: 40 minutes. Free.
