SickKids President and CEO named one of Canada’s Most Admired CEOs
Summary:
The winners represent an esteemed group of Canadian CEOs who have achieved significant accomplishments in their career.
Dr. Ronald Cohn, SickKids President and CEO, has been named a recipient of the 2025 Canada’s Most Admired CEO Award. This prestigious award, founded by Waterstone Human Capital, celebrates leaders who harness the power of corporate culture to drive organizational performance.
Each year, one winner is selected in each of five award categories. Cohn was named Most Admired CEO in the Non-Profit (not-for-profit and charitable organizations) category.
“I am truly honoured to be named one of Canada’s Most Admired CEOs. It means so much to me, but I honestly wish there was room on the award to engrave the name of every staff member at SickKids,” says Cohn. “There is a lot of hard work behind our success. Being the best means always learning, innovating and striving to improve the quality of our care and services -- and we do it, thanks to our engaged and passionate teams, and a culture of quality and safety that permeates throughout the organization.”
In addition to his role as President and CEO, Cohn is an accomplished and decorated physician and researcher. In 2021, during the height of the pandemic, he was ranked among the top CEOs in the world by Glassdoor. He has pushed the boundaries by conceptualizing SickKids' Precision Child Health movement, the driving force behind SickKids’ strategic plan.
It’s been a year of milestones for Cohn and the team at SickKids, from celebrating our 150th birthday to being crowned the best children’s hospital in the world.
