Recovery After Surgery

It can take up to one hour (sometimes longer) after surgery before your child is awake and ready for you to visit. The nurses in the PACU (Post Anesthetic Care Unit) will let you know when you can visit your child by displaying the message on a computer screen in the waiting room. At this time a volunteer will bring you to the recovery room. If you are not in the waiting room, the PACU nurse will call you.
