Biography

Dr. Marian Coret is an adolescent medicine paediatrician at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), where she provides clinical care within the Division of Adolescent Medicine and the ABILITY Program in the Department of Paediatrics. Dr. Coret completed medical school at the University of Calgary, her paediatric residency at Alberta Children’s Hospital/University of Calgary and her fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at SickKids/University of Toronto. She also holds a Master of Science in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary, where she gained expertise in psychoeducational and specialized developmental assessments (e.g., autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and evidence based interventions for children and youth with complex neurodevelopmental and mental health challenges. She has clinical and research interests in reproductive health and contraception, substance use, obesity, neurodevelopmental disorders (ASD, ADHD, IDD), as well as restricted eating, mental health challenges and complex medical presentations among neurodiverse youth.

Research

Dr. Coret is currently collaborating on retrospective study exploring the characteristics of youth with severe presentations of anorexia nervosa.
