Biography
Dr. Eric Greenwood is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto and a Staff Anesthesiologist at the Hospital for Sick Children. With over a decade of experience, he specializes in paediatric anesthesiology, new anesthesia equipment implementation, regional anesthesia, and difficult airway management. Dr. Greenwood earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by a Paediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at Mott Children’s Hospital.
Since joining SickKids in 2008, he has received multiple teaching awards, including the 2022 "Robert Creighton" Resident Teaching Award, and has developed educational programs for anesthesiology residents, fellows and continuing education. As an active clinician and educator, Dr. Greenwood has published widely and presented at numerous conferences. He co-leads initiatives for airway management protocols and training at SickKids. His work has significantly advanced paediatric anesthesia practices at SickKids and across Canada.
Research
Dr Greenwood has a diverse area of research interests. These involve ongoing collaborative research work in paediatric difficult airway management as well as pharmacogenomic research and pain control for major scoliosis surgery.
