Samantha Gerrie
Biography
Dr. Samantha Gerrie is a paediatric emergency radiologist with subspecialty interest in neonatal imaging. She was appointed as the Division Chief of Emergency Paediatric Radiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in 2024. Her clinical and academic focus is on neonatal imaging with a focus on neonatal bowel obstruction and head ultrasound. In addition, Dr Gerrie is actively involved in post-graduate medical education and mentorship for radiology trainees.
Research
Dr Gerrie’s research focuses on advancing our understanding and use of ultrasound in our neonatal patients to provide more timely diagnosis at the bedside to facilitate overall improvement in patient management and outcome. In addition, a better understanding of the multimodality imaging work up in the context of neonatal bowel obstruction can improve more rapid access to appropriate management.
