Biography
Dr. Joelene Huber is a developmental paediatrician and the Medical Lead of the ABILITY Program, which aims to adapt and improve health care delivery for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder and/or intellectual/developmental disability who require medical care at the Hospital for Sick Children. She completed medical school at McMaster University, paediatric residency at the Hospital for Sick Children/University of Toronto and a fellowship in developmental paediatrics at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital/University of Toronto. She holds a Master of Science from McGill University and a PhD in Medical Science and Neuroscience from the University of Toronto, completed in the Brain and Behaviour program at the Hospital for Sick Children. Joelene also completed a fellowship in journalism for subject matter experts at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto, and has worked in various capacities in medical journalism.
Research
Dr. Huber has specialized clinical and research interests in hospital care of neurodiverse patients.

- 2022: Courage Award in recognition of her years of leadership as a pediatrician and her public engagement and advocacy efforts for the health of mothers and newborn babies as a volunteer through the ENRICH:1000 Day Journey grant, World Vision.
