Biography

Dalya Kablawi is a coordinator of research engagements whose work bridges paediatric health research, mental health, and equity-focused community partnership. At SickKids, her work is focused on supporting research staff with elevating and embedding patient and family voices in research.

Previously, Dalya co-led the creation of a national, award-winning engagement framework at the Mental Health Commission of Canada, embedding lived experience across policy, research, and service design.

Her contributions span knowledge mobilization, equity-centered dissemination, and cross-institutional collaborations such as the Thriving Minds youth mental health initiative.

Recognized nationally for her leadership, including as one of the Canadian Arab Institute’s 30 Under 30 for 2025, Dalya brings an intersectional lens rooted in lived experience. Across all roles, her work emphasizes accessible, anti-oppressive, and co-designed approaches to health system transformation.

Research

Dalya is interested in contributing to research around the science of patient, family and community engagement in health research. She is a co-author on a scoping review exploring the commonalities and distinctions of pediatric patient and family engagement in clinical care, education, and research contexts.
