Biography

Dr. Pierre-Philippe Piché-Renaud is a Clinician-investigator in the Division of Infectious Diseases at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), holds an Associate Scientist-Track position in the Child Health Evaluative Sciences (CHES) program at SickKids Research Institute and is an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto. He completed his medical degree and his Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Clinical Epidemiology at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (University of Toronto) and a research fellowship with a focus on vaccine evaluation and the vaccination of special paediatric populations. Dr. Piché-Renaud completed his clinical training in paediatrics at Université de Montréal (CHU Sainte-Justine) and infectious diseases fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children.

Research

Dr. Piché-Renaud’s research interests are related to vaccinology, at the intersection of paediatric infectious diseases, immunology, epidemiology, and public & global health. His research curriculum aims to assess the effectiveness and safety of immunization programs both in the general paediatric population and in special hosts. He is the site Principal Investigator for the SickKids Special Immunization Clinic, which is part of a national network that aims to improve immunization practices for patients with medical conditions that may affect their response to immunizations and those who had experienced adverse events following immunization.
