About the Clinic
The Chronic Lung Disease of Prematurity (CLDP) Clinic is staffed by a Clinic Coordinator, Clinic Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Respiratory Therapist and Paediatric Respirologist. We see babies born prematurely and discharged home from the NICU with supplemental oxygen. We provide guidance to help wean the oxygen support and maintain lung health.
Pre-appointment Instructions
Please bring any medications your baby is prescribed and their oxygen saturation monitor.
What to Expect During Your Visit
Visits are scheduled to last about an hour but unexpected delays may lead to a longer stay. You will meet the Clinic Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Respiratory Therapist and Paediatric Respirologist during the visit. We will check your baby's oxygen saturation and carbon dioxide (with nasal prongs) and then have time to discuss any questions you may have about their lungs.
Coming to a clinic appointment
It's important to come prepared and be on time for a clinic appointment. Visit Coming for Clinic Appointments to read appointment guidelines that are applicable for most clinical appointments at SickKids.
You’ll find information on how to prepare and what to bring, what to do if you/your child are sick before your appointment or you need to cancel, and important things to know about the SickKids philosophy.
