Intended Audience
Building capacity across the care team is essential to delivering high-quality care for children with congenital and acquired heart disease. The ACE Program is thoughtfully designed to benefit healthcare professionals across disciplines. While physicians represent over half of all ACE Program participants, the program also provides significant value to nurses and allied health professionals who work in paediatric cardiac care.
Physicians Specialties
Participating physicians include cardiologists, pediatricians, intensivists, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, fellows, residents, and nurse practitioners, among others.
Nursing Practice Areas
Nurses comprise nearly one-third (28%) of ACE Program participants. Most work in paediatric intensive care units, cardiology inpatient units, and paediatric cardiac critical care settings.
Year of Experience
Participants in the ACE Program range from early-career professionals with one year of experience to those with over 15 years in practice, reflecting engagement across all career stages.

Global Reach and Bursary Opportunities
The ACE Program has reached healthcare professionals across five continents, representing over 100 institutions—most of which are paediatric and/or cardiovascular specialty centers. Our mission is to ensure that all health-care providers have access to the knowledge and skills needed to improve outcomes for children with heart disease.
To help address global health disparities, limited access to specialized education, and resource constraints in low- and middle-income countries, SickKids is proud to offer bursaries to eligible applicants. Each successful recipient will receive a $2,400 CAD bursary, applied directly toward course registration.
Deadline to apply for bursaries is June 20, 2025.
