About the Clinic
The Endocrine Clinic provides care to children and adolescents with a variety of endocrine conditions involving hormone function. This may include conditions related to growth and puberty, as well as pituitary, adrenal and thyroid function.
Pre-appointment Instructions
Directions:
The first thing to do is register at the Endocrine Registration Desk in Clinic 9 on the Main Floor of the Burton Wing. The waiting and registration area is in Room M100.
From the University Avenue entrance, walk south and turn down the first hallway on your left. We are the first clinic you will find on the right side of this hallway.
From the Elizabeth Street entrance and parking garage elevators, walk west towards Shoppers Drug Mart. At the Family Centre turn left. At the end of this hallway you will find our registration and waiting area.
What to Expect During Your Visit
In our clinic we have a team approach to providing care. The endocrine team includes paediatric endocrinologists, endocrine nurses, a nurse practitioner and a social worker. First, your child’s growth will be measured by one of our endocrine nurses, who also help provide teaching to families about the management of endocrine conditions. Following this, your child will be seen by one of the endocrine doctors or by our nurse practitioner. Because SickKids is a teaching hospital you may meet doctors in training (endocrine fellows, paediatric residents and medical students). We will make every effort to see your child in a timely manner but appointments may last up to 90 minutes.
