Background and clinical significance

IgA anti-human tissue transglutaminase (h-tTG) antibodies in human serum. The presence of IgA anti-h-tTG antibodies, in conjunction with clinical findings and other laboratory tests, can aid in the diagnosis of the gluten sensitive enteropathies celiac disease (CD) and dermatitis herpetiformis (DH).
