Background and clinical significance

The presence of anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA (anti-tTG IgA) antibodies in serum, in conjunction with clinical findings and other laboratory tests, can aid in the diagnostic evaluation of the gluten sensitive enteropathies celiac disease (CD) and dermatitis herpetiformis (DH).
