Dr. Maya Capua is a Staff Physician in the Division of Emergency Medicine and Pre-Hospital Lead at SickKids in Toronto, Canada.

She received her medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine in Israel and completed her paediatric residency at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore in New York. She then completed a Paediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New York. Dr. Capua also completed a Paediatric Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) fellowship at SickKids.

Dr. Capua has presented research at national and international conferences and has delivered educational sessions on the use of POCUS to physicians and physician assistants. She has also participated in medical mission trips to low-resource communities 

Research

Dr. Capua's research interests focus on POCUS education and identifying barriers to POCUS use among clinicians and trainees. She is currently involved in research aimed at implementing curricula that support the integration of POCUS into residency programs.
