Biography

Kate Paulino is a Program Coordinator for the Peer Support and Trauma Response Program at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She is currently registered with the Ontario College of Registered Psychotherapists as well as the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

She has specialized training in dialectical behavioural therapy, as well as certifications in motivational interviewing, suicide prevention and non-violent crisis intervention.

Having spent the majority of her career in the hospital system, she recognizes the importance of a multidiciplinary approach and has a profound admiration for staff providing direct care to patients.

In her previous role as a Director of Social Services, she provided oversight to multiple departments but focused mainly on providing high quality inpatient psychiatric services.

Research

Paulino was published in the Michigan Journal of Counseling for research on common factors to guide strength-based counseling.
